Note Cards to sell at the show on Saturday.

Note: If you come to the blog and do not see the area to leave a comment. If you click on the name at the top, it will re-load and the comments option will be on again.

These are some Note Cards I had printed of one of my larger artworks. I printed them two up on cardstock them trimmed, folded and packaged them up into 10 packs. I already sold two packages of them to an artist friend of mine on Facebook. I also sold two individual greeting card artworks to another artist friend on facebook! I am just tickled pink that someone actually liked my work enough to buy it! I know, they are friends, but still... it makes you feel good. :)

Greeting Note Cards for the show

I've been working on some greeting-note cards to sell at the show I will be participating in on November 2nd. These are the first three I have gotten done so far.

I got another one done. Going to do one more tonight, and maybe some painting, the world series is on, Jeff won't miss me a bit! (Edit: Inserted another card I did last night before I went to bed.)

Bookmarks?

I've been playing around with some zentangle inspired bookmarks. I thought I might sell them for a few dollars each at the show I am going participate in, or just make print outs of them to give our with my blog address on the back... but then I got to thinking, do people need bookmarks anymore? I like a good paperback or hard cover book, but I also like the new downloadable books you can read on the cell phone. oh well... I'm taking some polls on facebook to see what people say.

Zentangle Inspired Artwork

I started this zentangle inspired artwork last night and finished it up today. I wasn't sure I was going to like the parts I colored in blue to be blue, but I just went for it, and I am glad I did it, I do like it. This is digi-framed and Matted to see how it would look. I am thinking that one of the things I could do is print off this photo and put it behind the drawing to show how it could look framed to help sell it without going to the expense of framing it myself.

One of the things I am thinking about selling at this little art show are some smaller zentangle tiles I have done in the past, and am working on, and I will also create some book marks to sell. I know when I go to art shows, most times the things I want are way out of my price range, but I will buy a greeting card or something small just to remember the artist or the time I spent there. So I am working on some of those things. The tile I am showing here is only 3.5 x 3.5 inches, but doesn't it look cool digi-framed and matted?

Missing my son...

The past couple of days have been hard. I don't know what it is, but I've really been missing Matthew. He sent me this photo of himself after he went off campus to get a haircut today. Thank goodness for modern technology. I get to talk to him or text with him just about every day. Even a simple text makes me feel a little better. I think we are going to go up to East Lansing this coming weekend to see him. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, really miss him.

A few more zentangle inspired artworks... digitally framed and matted.

Here are a few more zentangle inspired artworks I have done this week. I digitally matted and framed them to see how they would look. I have another one in the works, but day-job work is going to keep me busy until later this evening.

My First art show/sale.

I will be participating in my first art show/sale on November 2nd. I'm not sure what all I am going to bring yet, the image above will be one of them. But it's a simple affair, with just a table per artist, so I am going to bring a couple of framed things and the rest I will just mat and place in a viewing rack on the table. I also have some little framed pieces that I will put out on the table. I'm excited and nervous. But at the very least this will let me know what sells and what doesn't. It will be a great learning experience. The event is called: Samhain Harvest of the Arts on Sixth Street. (2020 W Sixth St. Mishawaka, Indiana.) A free to the public event! Local artists will be displaying and selling their wares to the interested public in a friendly autumn themed setting.
This is a relaxed atmosphere event, not a black tie wine & cheese soiree. Details still being hammered out. Besides the artwork, there will be a raffle ($1tickets) for prizes (artwork) donated by artists. Will update as more info becomes available.
That's all I know right now. I'll let you know more as details become available. :)

Almost "me time".

Just have to finish prepping files for the web, and then I should be able to find some "me time". The good thing about layout, at least the end of it, is that I always have some "waiting time", and I was able to do a few small drawings in my little sketchbook. I like doing these, they a marker drawings, so I can stop and go back to them in little bursts. They really help me keep the stress levels down when things are going bonkers. I finally have another designer working with me. He helped out with a few last minute ad designs while I was working on layouts. That was a big help, poor guy started working during layouts... that's always fun! If he sticks around, next batch of magazines to go to press should be easier.

So long heart.......

The heart is on it's way to be weather-coated. As soon as they let me know where it will be placed until the Gala on Valentines Day, I will go pay it a visit. :)
