Rocks

I like the way the rocks turned out in this watercolor painting I did the other day, but that's about it. Seems like I'm in a bit of a funk. I think it's because I started a diet, and all the restrictions are making me cranky. I know it will be worth it, it already is health wise, blood pressure is back to normal, and my blood sugar levels are going down, but I have no energy, and I'm feeling a bit on the blue side... this too shall pass... busy week for work, so I best get to it... See ya next time.

Raining Flowers

I started an abstract watercolor painting of some flowers. Right now it looks like "raining flowers"... I'm not sure what else I am going to do with it yet, but I like how it looks so far.

Beaches & Nightmares

Here is another beach watercolor painting I started last night and finished up this morning. I really like the way this came out. It's more of what I was trying to accomplish.

On another note, I am so happy that Friday the 13th is over, I don't remember the dream, but I was screaming in my sleep, and Jeff woke me up, because I evidently wasn't just screaming in my dream!

I get bye with a Little Help from my friends...

I was talking to a friend of mine about Vincent Van Gogh, I thought I had read that he never sold a painting during his lifetime. Turns out I was wrong, Van Gogh sold one painting in his lifetime.

My point to my friend (who has purchased several of my artworks) was, how could that be true? Didn't he have any friends? Turns out that the painting he did sell (Red Vineyard at Arles (The Vigne Rouge)) was sold to Anna Boch. Vincent was a friend of her brother, Eugène Boch...

Friends are the GREATEST! So a big shout out to all my friends and family who have bought my paintings! Thanks for your support! You're the best! As the Beatles song goes... "I get bye with a little help from my friends..." :)

I've been playing around with waterscapes lately. I just finished this watercolor painting. Although I am happy with the way this came out, it's not what I was going for. I wanted more of a hilly-sandy looking beach. The problem is that I got too close to the grass so to speak... I think to get the "look" I was going for, I need to "widen" the view so to speak, and make the sandy wills in the foreground, and some grasses more toward the water, like the middle ground of the composition. I will try that next time.

Posters

I've added quotes to some of the computer generated artworks I created, and I am going to have them printed to sell at the next art show I participate in. Just waiting to hear if I am accepted into the show.

2 more CGAA's

Two more computer generated abstract artworks (CGAA's) I created today. I am really having fun with this. I applied to participate in a show this summer in down town south bend. I am keeping my fingers cross that I get accepted. It's a really cool art show and they get an excellent turn out.

I've been playing around in photoshop again. If I have time tomorrow I am going to pick up some paint brushes. :)

Weekend travels - Family get-togethers

This past weekend we took a quick over-night trip to Richmond Indiana to see Jeff's Aunt, Uncle and several cousins for a little picnic at a park, then we spent the night there, and drove to Cincinnati Ohio and had lunch with Jeff's other uncle, and his cousin and her husband. We have not seen these people in so many years, it was good to see the extended family.
