three more Zentangle Inspired artworks in my sketchbook.
It's been a few days since I've had time to draw in my sketchbook... day-job has been keeping me pretty busy. One magazine is ready to go off to press in the morning, and I have at least 3 more to do next week... then it's vacation time... and I am counting the days!

Zentangle Tiles
I've seen other people draw "tiles" on larger pages and Zentangle on them, so I thought I would do one. I like how it came out.

The art of procrastination :)
Here are a couple more pages I Zentangled in my sketchbook. There is a shadow on the bottom of the top photo, but oh well, I'm too lazy today to take another photo. I work on these late at night, I've been too busy with work during the day, I haven't been able to get back to the pumpkin patch painting yet. I like to work on that when I have good light in my office/studio. I have to take a day or two and clean out this room. I've got so much clutter around me, it's making me crazy! I need to box up things I haven't used in over a year and put them in storage... labeled so I can find something if I need it. Maybe tomorrow... I love to procrastinate!

De-stressing
One of the things I like about doing these drawings is that it allows me de-stressing time. I can sit for hours and draw, color, shade, not worry about all things that bother me, listen to an audio-book or music and just get lost for a while... come up with new ideas and solutions, plan for the future, contemplate things and find inspiration. I love that I don't know what these are going to look like until they are finished. No expectations, no mistakes, no erasers are ever used in these drawings.

A great idea for study notes.
As I listened to the Alchemist again, I thought I would write a few things down in my sketchbook and Zentangle around them... I think that would be an excellent thing for students to do to make "note taking" more fun.

A thought...
I was listening to an audio book called "Hero" by Rhonda Byrne yesterday, and one of the things I got out of it was that if we want good things to happen, we have to think they will... so I wrote that down in my sketchbook and Zentangled around it. Now, when I go through my sketchbook, I will have a positive thought any time I see this. :)

Three more colorful Zentangles
I've been listening to The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt while I've been working on these paintings over the past few days. Love this book, but it's really long! This is the second time I have listened to the book, I bought it over a year ago, so enough time has gone bye, that I am enjoying it again. I love listening to someone read, it reminds me of when I was a kid and my Mom and I used to read to each other. Still have another 8 hours to listen! I've been working on ads and layouts too... 4 new magazines are off to press.

Adding color to my sketchbook
Well, I just couldn't help myself! I was going to do nothing but black and white in this new sketchbook, but when I started working on the spirals (on the top posted page), I knew that I was going to add color... then, well, the cat was out of the bag... so... color it is. It's stupid to limit myself.
