Paper Roses Tangle Pattern I created
I think I have come up with my first tangle-pattern step-out. There is a pattern that it similar to it that I might have been thinking of when I drew mine, by Michele Beauchampe called "Popsicles", but mine starts with a heart and has more layers. I guess they call it a "Tangleation"in the Zentangle world. I received lots of comments and a request to draw the step out for the pattern, so I did. Patterns have been around forever, and I'm sure it has been done before, so I don't know, but I will share it anyway.

Hannah's Garden Update - Work in progress
My day-job work has been taking up a good deal of my time, but I did manage to find some time to work on this painting for the Hannah & Friends fundraiser. I added a touch of pink to the color scheme for this painting, I think it will look good when it is done. I might do a little more with this painting tonight after dinner, right now it is sitting on the easel breathing and waiting on me to decide when it needs next. :)

Progress on Hannah's Garden
This is what I got done on this painting since I last posted. Still a long way to go, but the day-job beat my butt today, it's 9:30 pm and I just finished up for the day... I think I need a little "couch potato" time... tomorrow is another day. :)

More work in progress...
Here is the progress I made on the painting last night. I really enjoyed working on it. Classical music playing in the background, painting, appreciating and admiring each step in the process. It's starting to feel very "garden-ish" to me, and since I am painting it for the Hannah & Friends fundraiser, I might just name it "Hannah's Garden"... we will have to wait and see if the name still fits when it is completed.

Paint the town for Hannah & Friends Fundraiser and a new project.
I've started a new project for a fund-raiser I am involved with for Hannah & Friends (http://www.hannahandfriends.org) - "Paint the town for Hannah & Friends". They have not set a date for the event yet, but there will be an auction where several pieces of my work will be sold, along with other local artists at the Century Center in South Bend Indiana. It's going to be a fun night. I will share more details as they become available.
Jeff's brother Gary sent us a gift certificate to Amazon for Christmas, so I ordered some new shimmering H20 watercolors that I am using on this project. The bottom photo shows some experimentation I was doing to see how the paints worked together... and of course I had to get some paint on the actual project, so that is what the third photo shows. It was funny, because yesterday, I said to myself that I might wait for the new product to arrive to work again on the project (they were not due to arrive until the 14th... next thing I knew, there was a knock on the door, and my package had arrived early! I considered that a "sign" that I was to use the paint for this project. :)
It took me over 8 hours just to get the black and white drawing done this past Sunday (photo 2), and for those of you who are in the "Zentangle know", the first photo shows the "String" I created for this project. All of the tangle-patterns I used in their drawing can be found in the book "One Zentangle A Day" by Beckah Krahula. I will post more progress photos as I go along.
I have a little time now, so going to break out the brushes, tune into Pandora and some classical piano music, and get my Zen on! :)

Keeping my Sanity...
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but it has been a very stressful week. I've only kept my sanity by doing these little drawings and closing myself off in my office.

Happy New Year.
It's been a few days since I have updated my blog! I recently joined some Zentangle groups on Facebook, and I guess I forgot about my blog for a little while. I hope you are all having a wonderful New Year! I've been busy doing some little Zentangle Inspired Artworks, took the Christmas decorations down, cooking and cleaning, working on ads, all the usual stuff. I have a meeting to go to next weekend about a fund-raiser I am going to be participating in February, I will have more to tell you about that after the meeting. Jeff is recovering from his shoulder surgery... the first week was the worst, but every day it gets a little better.
