Paint the town for Hannah & Friends Fundraiser and a new project.

I've started a new project for a fund-raiser I am involved with for Hannah & Friends (http://www.hannahandfriends.org) - "Paint the town for Hannah & Friends". They have not set a date for the event yet, but there will be an auction where several pieces of my work will be sold, along with other local artists at the Century Center in South Bend Indiana. It's going to be a fun night. I will share more details as they become available.

Jeff's brother Gary sent us a gift certificate to Amazon for Christmas, so I ordered some new shimmering H20 watercolors that I am using on this project. The bottom photo shows some experimentation I was doing to see how the paints worked together... and of course I had to get some paint on the actual project, so that is what the third photo shows. It was funny, because yesterday, I said to myself that I might wait for the new product to arrive to work again on the project (they were not due to arrive until the 14th... next thing I knew, there was a knock on the door, and my package had arrived early! I considered that a "sign" that I was to use the paint for this project. :)

It took me over 8 hours just to get the black and white drawing done this past Sunday (photo 2), and for those of you who are in the "Zentangle know", the first photo shows the "String" I created for this project. All of the tangle-patterns I used in their drawing can be found in the book "One Zentangle A Day" by Beckah Krahula. I will post more progress photos as I go along.

I have a little time now, so going to break out the brushes, tune into Pandora and some classical piano music, and get my Zen on! :)
